The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking a Graphic Design and Communications Intern to support its global communications efforts. This internship is ideal for creative, detail‑oriented candidates who want to apply their design skills to meaningful international development work.

As a Graphic Design and Communications Intern, you will contribute to high‑visibility digital content used across UNDP platforms, campaigns, and global initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

·       Design visual assets for digital and print communications

·       Support branding and layout for reports, presentations, and social media

·       Create infographics, icons, and visual storytelling materials

·       Assist with photo editing, image optimization, and visual consistency

·       Collaborate with communications teams to develop creative concepts

·       Ensure all materials follow UNDP brand guidelines

·       Support content updates on UNDP websites and digital channels

·       Contribute to campaign planning and visual strategy

Required Skills & Experience

Applicants must meet one of the following:

·       Enrolled in a postgraduate degree

·       In the final year of a Bachelor’s program

·       Recently graduated (within 1 year)

·       Enrolled in a postgraduate traineeship program

Preferred Technical Skills:

·       Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)

·       Experience with Canva, Figma, or similar tools

·       Basic motion graphics or video editing (Premiere, After Effects)

·       Understanding of branding and layout principles

·       Familiarity with web and social media design formats

·       Knowledge of accessibility‑friendly design practices

Internship Conditions

·       Monthly stipend (varies by duty station)

·       In‑person internships typically receive USD 1,000/month

·       Remote internships receive a reduced stipend

·       All other costs (travel, insurance, accommodation) are self‑funded

·       Interns must provide proof of medical insurance

·       Internship does not lead to employment with UNDP

·       Interns must arrange visas and travel if required
